middle school activities for the 2011-12 School year

Concert Band Festivals - Registration will be in place in early January, with the announcement of clinicians. Please contact Steve Martin with questions (link on board page) slimsmarti@gmail.com


The CBA Middle School Concert Band Festival is an excellent resource and opportunity for your developing students and a great way to get feedback on your group’s development. Elementary directors are also encouraged to participate as these festivals are a great opportunity for young musicians.


The festival includes 3 adjudicators, recorded and written feedback, and an on (or) off stage clinic. Groups receive ratings from each clinician, those ratings are not posted. You can also choose to perform for comments only.

DATES and LOCATIONS FOR 2012


April 19 - Northern Region, Mountain View High School, Pete Toews Host. Off Stage Clinic.


April 20 - Metro Region, Denver School of the Arts, Dave Hammond Host. On Stage Clinic.


April 24 - Southern Region, Cheyenne Mountain High School, Jack Yonce, Host. On Stage Clinic.


Important Note for On Stage Clinic Sites: The more time you play, the shorter your clinic, don’t over program. Two pieces of contrasting styles is more than enough for the clinicians to evaluate your performance.


Cost: $200 per group.


Scheduling: Based on electronic registration.


Listening Requirement? Yes, groups need to listen to 2 groups. You need to plan on this ahead of time, it adds extra time to your trip. You should plan on explaining to your administrators and parents why this requirement is part of the CBA Concert Band festivals.

Registration is a two step process.


Step One


Click Here to fill out the electronic registration form. This will determine scheduling, based on the order received. Do this first and as quickly as possible. Please note: Once you are registered electronically, you are obligated to pay the registration fee. Do not register if you are not sure you can participate.


The electronic copy allows for quick registration and more efficient planning.


Step Two


Complete and mail in the hard copy CBA_Reg_MSConcertBand_2012.pdf with the registration fee.


The hard copy fulfills your bookkeeper requirements for payment and must be signed by you and your administrator.




DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS MARCH 2ND
